Celebration Schedule
It is possible to talk about daily (a), weekly (b) and annual (c) celebrations of the pilgrims.
a) Daily celebrations
Pilgrims gather daily in Medjugorje according to their language, for the celebration of the Eucharist:
Croatian language group: 7:30 a.m. on work days; 7:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays and 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on Sundays.
Eastern countries 8:00 a.m. on work days and 7:00 a.m. on Sundays.
German language group: 9:00 a.m. on work days and Sundays.
English language group: 10:00 a.m. on work days and 12:00 p.m. on Sundays.
Italian language group: 11:00 a.m. on work days and 10:00 a.m. on Sundays.
French language group: 12:00 pm on work days and 1:00 pm on Sundays.
The other nationalities celebrate the Eucharist according to prior agreement with the Parish Office staff.
The collective evening gathering of pilgrims begins in winter at 5:00 p.m. (in summer at 6:00 p.m.) with the recitation of the joyful and sorrowful mysteries of the Rosary in preparation for the Eucharistic celebration that begins at 6:00 p.m. 00 a.m. (7:00 p.m. in summer) and then continues with the praises and glorious mysteries of the Rosary until 8:00 p.m. (9:00 p.m. in summer).
The celebration of Holy Mass at other times is possible by prior agreement with the Parish Office staff.
b) Weekly celebrations
Prayer of the Rosary on the Mount of Apparitions, Sundays at 2:00 p.m. (4:00 p.m. in summer).
Via Crucis in Krizevac, on Fridays at 2:00 p.m. (4:00 p.m. in summer).
Adoration of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament of the Altar, on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:00 p.m. (10:00 p.m. in summer).
Eucharistic adoration, on Thursdays as thanksgiving, after the evening Holy Mass.
Adoration of the Cross, on Fridays as thanks, after the evening Holy Mass.
c) Annual celebrations
During the main festivities of the Virgin: the Annunciation, the Assumption and the Nativity of the Virgin Mary.
During the great solemnities of the Lord: Christmas, New Year, Easter and Pentecost.
During the months of May and October.
The most important annual celebration takes place on the occasion of the Anniversary of the Apparitions (June 25) and on the occasion of the celebration of the feast of the Exaltation of the Cross
Extraordinary annual meetings may include:
Alternative New Year’s Eve.
International Peace March from Humac to Medjugorje, June 24.
International Youth Prayer Meeting, from July 31 to August 6.
