From 1981 until today, Medjugorje has developed into a world-famous place of prayer and spirituality. Wanting to share this experience with others, we organized the Medjugorje IT Conference (ITM), which provides an opportunity for spiritual growth and meeting people from the IT sector. In an IT sector that is often driven by commercial applications and mainstream projects, it is rare to find content that aligns with the deep spiritual interests of software engineers.
Pope Francis encourages us to use technology in the spread of evangelization when he says: “It is necessary for the Church’s mission to adapt to the times and to use the modern means that technology makes available to us. It is about investing in the contemporary areas of proclaiming mercy and God’s goodness. We should use these resources, especially the Internet, without becoming servants of these resources. We must avoid becoming hostages of the net and instead catch fish, that is, attract souls to the Lord”.
Encouraged by the Pope’s words, we hereby invite to the conference software engineers and technology professionals who want to apply their skills, abilities and expertise in projects related to the permeation of the technological world and spirituality and the spread of evangelization. “No matter how difficult the situation is, sometimes it really seems that there is no place for the Gospel message, we must not give up on the implementation of what is essential in our Christian life, which is evangelization,” says Pope Francis.
The goals of this project are imbued with Medjugorje spirituality:
1.Bring the spirituality of Medjugorje as a global phenomenon even more into the lives of individuals.
2.To deal with the questions of how to live as believers in the digital world and not lose one’s Christian identity.
3.Bridging technology and spirituality: engaging in dynamic discussions and creating connections between individuals who share a love for the Catholic faith and technology, with the goal of exploring new frontiers and collaboration.
We invite you to register for our conference via the following link https://mediamirmedjugorje.com/conference. The number of places is limited, so we encourage you to register early and reserve your place on this digital-spiritual pilgrimage that starts on March 7 and ends on March 10, 2024 in Medjugorje.
